Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction

Emma Holtrust April 25, 2016

As some of you might know, a few weeks ago the shortlist for Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction was announced. The list looked so good that I decided, just like with the Costa Book Awards, to read the shortlist. Every monday from now until the winner is announced (June 8th), I'll be reviewing one of the books. I've already read and reviewed two of the books on the list, but I will repost these reviews so they are easy to access.

This also comes with a giveaway attached! From now on until the winner is announced, you have the chance to win two books of your picking that are on the shortlist. All you have to do is comment on any of the Baileys Women's Prize posts with the book you think will win. All the people who pick the winning book will be entered in the giveaway and a winner will be randomly chosen. So you can comment on this post, or any of the reviews coming up during the next few weeks. The winner will be announced on the blog after the award ceremony!

The schedule for the blog posts is this:

2/5
Ruby by Cynthia Bond

9/5
The Glorious Heresies by Lisa McInerney

16/5
The Green Road by Anne Enright

23/5
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

30/5
The Portable Veblen by Elizabeth McKenzie

6/6
The Improbability of Love by Hannah Rothschild

If you're a YA fan, don't worry: I received some exciting ARC's these past few weeks that will be reviewed on the Thursday of each week!

“That is part of the beauty of literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you’re not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.”
