Went to @barnesandnoble this morning before my morning tea, because this book is FINALLY out! I feel like I've waited forever for The Female Persuasion and I can't wait to spend all day with @megwolitzer! #books #bookstagram #read #reading #thefemalepersuasion #megwolitzer #tea #book #booknerd #bookworm
Quiet Sunday mornings - snow melting away outside (finally) and some iced chai tea to wake me up while reading this beauty. Just started The Immortalists last night and I already love it so much!

My first blind date book! Found a shelf at @nashuabookcellar and couldn't resist picking one up!
If you want to see which book it is, make sure to swipe left!

My second read of the year is this wonderful book.
Daphne by Justine Picardie is the story of Daphne du Maurier's search into Branwell Brontë's past. This search goes far beyond Daphne and even influences a modern day student to retrace the steps Daphne took.

Everyone who knows me knows that I love Daphne du Maurier, so this book was an instant love. Picardie writes beautifully and I love how this story is a love story (though not a happy one), a mystery, a historical novel and a contemporary novel at the same time.

Not convinced yet? Swipe left to see how much my cat loved this book too! 😻😻 #books #book #bookstagram #daphnedumaurier #bronte #read #reading #cat #booklr #instabook #booknerd #bookworm
I haven't been posting much, but I've been reading! I'm glad that I made my goal of 50 books this year and I must say that Little Fires Everywhere (my last book of 2017!) might have been my favourite!! How much I love discovering new stories! ❤️❤️ Here's to a good, and bookfilled, 2018! #books #book #goodreads #yearinbooks #2017 #bookstagram #reading #instabook
What a special day. Today is the day F. Scott Fitzgerald was born. Though me and him have never even shared a day on this earth, he has influenced my life more than I can explain.

His stories have made me want to be a writer, made me strive to come close to his ability to share his stories.
Beyond that, I used Tender Is the Night for my MA thesis. Through that novel, I became familiar with Fitzgerald's editor Max Perkins and the important role Perkins played in Fitzgerald's life.

I wrote my Emerson application letter about Perkins and Fitzgerald at the start of 2017 from my office in Belgium. Now I'm sitting in my American office, sipping Starbucks and studying for the courses of my Publishing and Writing MA.

Thank you, Fitzgerald, for helping me find my path. I am now a writer and an editor and I couldn't be more happy.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while buuuut I guess I have some news! This picture is taking in my American office!! You read that right: I've officially moved to the USA and will start my publishing postgrad degree at Emerson on Friday!

Everything about this is so exciting, but especially that now I can get books I want on the day they're released! I just had to buy Wonder Woman yesterday and can't wait to delve into her world!

Happy book-birthday, To Kill A Mockingbird. One of my favourite novels and I feel so blessed to discover these great characters over and over again whenever I want to.

Happy anniversary, Harry Potter! Can you believe HP came out 20 years ago?

In honour of this special occasion, I'm continuing the re-read I started about two years ago!! I stranded on book 5, so this is how I'll spend my evening!

Are any of you celebrating?

My Sunday read! I couldn't put this down - it was so amazing!
I love retellings and this is an original spin on the Mulan story. It has enough elements that remind me of Mulan, yet so many original twists and turns!

One of the books I picked up at @shakespeareandcoparis! How I loved the store and every single book in it 😍😍 Anyone else ever been? Not one novel or writer has inspired me to write more than Truman Capote and In Cold Blood. This novel literally changed my idea about what a story can be and how I can reach other people.

While Capote is now often known for his extravagant lifestyle, I adore the rawness this sketch of him portrays. He wasn't just a socialite (though his parties are legendary), but a writer who was able to reach inside people's psyche and convey it on the page. Thank you, Literary Listography for including this in your book.

“That is part of the beauty of literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you’re not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.”
